Your proposed modifications sound okay, just be sure to be more clear in your final submission about what your newly created obstacle is and what the new player ability is and how to use it. Also, make sure that your new level is sufficiently different from your other levels and that your aesthetics adjustments clearly state what you created in your final submission.
